"I would appreciate the group's opinion on retention research as I prepare a Pros and Cons statement for my management.

I understand no one resource should be the basis for our retention decisions.  What I'd like to argue is that my current team with the right retention research software can provide the same authentic and reliable results as an external contracted resource doing a refresh of an existing schedule."

Welcome back to the list neighbor.  Before I started at QVC in 2005, the company "refreshed" our existing RRS by utilizing outside resources.  Our RRS is refreshed annually and we have still been using outside resources as needed.  We are now looking into purchasing RRS software and with implementing an audit plan, we are going to bring this function in house thereby saving the company significant amounts of money.

I trust the outside resources we have used in the past, but I think the RRS software available today and the resources we have internally are the better way to go.  There is something to being self-sufficient and I know Upper Management will appreciate the cost savings.  Please give me a call if you would like to talk more.
