This is a unique education curriculum which teaches non-technical lawyers,
paralegals, and RIM professionals the “nuts and bolts” of how IT systems
work. It enables legal and RIM professionals to better communicate with
IT professionals. All topics are presented in the context of what an
attorney, paralegal, and other RIM professionals should know in order to
better manage litigation preparedness, electronic discovery, and records
retention/management.
This one-day workshop will provide attendees with limited computer and IT
knowledge an opportunity to learn all the basics of the IT infrastructure,
Microsoft Exchange and Outlook E-mail Systems, and Disaster Recovery and
Backup Systems. Participants will learn:
· Elements of a computer network, data center, and IT infrastructure
· Hardware, Software, People and process;
· Learning about IT systems: tips of the trade
· IT versus legal perspective
· E-mail management tools and technologies;
· E-mail archiving;
· Configuration options relevant to electronic discovery;
· Purpose and Elements of backup systems;
· Review of backup system technologies.
