Hello to all!

I have worked in a records mgmt job in a government agency since 1986.
And I followed the current retention schedules and made revisions as the
retention was changed, by legislature or regulation.

Is it normal for public (non-government) agencies to have different
retention policies/schedules for the same type of records series?  This
just seems so foreign to me.

Perhaps my dilemma lies with having so much time in the government
realm!
