Our CEO sent me the following question last night:
"I have a daughter who has a History Degree and is pursuing a Masters in
Public History at Middle Tenn State University in Murfreesboro, TN. But, one
thing she is really interested in, and has worked quite a bit in already,
is “archival” type activity.
Question:
What type of certifications do you have as part of your resume that makes
you an expert in the field of document management, records, information,
etc.?
This is something she has expressed an interest in. Any other advice or input
would be appreciated."
I was going to talk about ARMA, ICRM, AIIM and the certifications and
continuing education you can obtain through these organizations. However, I
know there are many on this list who have a background in archiving and
library/information science and I would like to get your feedback on education
and experience that have proven rewarding on both a personal and
professional level.
Thanks,
