POSITION TITLE: Project Manager - Records Management

LOCATION:  New York, Washington, DC, Chicago or Boston



JOB OVERVIEW:

Directly contribute to the success of Records and Information Management (RIM) projects for our law firm clients.  This position will support, coordinate and implement RIM projects including traditional records management systems, best practices and assist in the implementation and development of programs including emerging technologies.  In addition, this position will ensure that clients are receiving the optimal level of advice and service in support of their strategic goals surrounding RIM including creation, organization, storage, preservation, identification, legal discovery and maintenance of records.  Position may track and bill time.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 *   Bachelors Degree
 *   Certified Records Manager (CRM) or current CRM candidate preferred.
 *   10 years or more Records Management experience working for a large multiple office law firm(s).
 *   Records Management experience must include developing, planning and implementing Records Management Programs (electronic & paper), including records retention.
 *   Strong computer skills required including working knowledge of leading records management software programs, document management systems and Microsoft products, including SharePoint.
 *   Excellent oral and written communication skills
 *   Advanced organizational skills
 *   Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
 *   Ability to perform Records Management gap analysis, collect, analyze and interpret data.
 *   Ability to assist in the design and implementation of efficient and effective workflow.
 *   Interview, develop and mentor all levels of Records Management staff.
 *   Research federal, state and local laws and regulation related to records management.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

 *   Together with Merrill legal specialists, technologists and other co-workers, develop, audit and/or implement client based records management programs including retention policies and procedures.
 *   Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
 *   Strong project management skill set.
 *   Oversee quality audit programs.  Prepare ongoing workload reports.
 *   Effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, clients, customers and employees.
 *   Solving problems and focusing on solutions.
 *   Maintaining exceptional customer service orientation at all times.
 *   Overseeing the day to day project operations.
 *   Interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
