I am wondering if anyone has a working system linking the Retention Schedule, physical records and e-records/content server that truly manages all records/content.

Ideally this would be parts of the same product line, but "best of breed" is not out of the question as long as they truly work together [it appears that being in the same product line does not guarantee OOTB inoperability].

I am partial to an integrated solution for the true "records", but it probably needs a federated component to connect with other software repositories which may or may not include records.

I would be interested in talking to anyone who has a working system that has met the test of time,
or anyone who has gone this route and are willing to share their experience.
Vendor input is not sought at this time, other than any specific client reference I can call.

In an Ideal World:
The Retention policy/rules should reside in only one place.
One software that manages destructions and legal holds along with other Records functions that would affect all corporate information.
It should link directly to the inactive records index and management of the physical Records Center space.
It should also link to e-repositories, directories of unstructured information, and hopefully structured data.
It should have a "1-stop" seamless search for users, so they don't need search for electronic and again for paper.
It would have a handful of heavy users, but needs to be easy to use for up to 800 FTEs
