Nebraska Governor, Dave Heineman, will be signing a proclamation on Wednesday honoring ARMA Nebraska for 50 years of operation. I have been offered the opportunity to give a 1-minute speech regarding our proclamation.

I think I can speak for current events and direction of the industry as well as benefits for developing a Records Information Management program. However, I'd like to splash a bit of historical information about the history of RIM. Does anyone have resources or information about the history of RIM? What were common records management problems in the 40's and 50's that led to formation of formalized records information management practices?

Again, this is a 1-minutes speech and I'm from Nebraska, so I don't speak incredibly fast :-) I'm just looking for quick, interesting facts or stories.

Thanks!!!
