Our company is preparing to roll out Microsoft Office 2010, upgrading the enterprise from Office 2003. We've been testing business critical files, many of which contain embedded macros, to ensure they can be opened with MS 2010, the formulas still work, etc. While documenting the procedures for converting these files to MS 2010, the project team uncovered a unique situation. Instead of overwriting the existing document with the new properties and format, MS 2010 creates a new document, leaving the original one in place. Obviously, this is not an ideal situation.

Has anyone upgraded their systems to MS 2010 and experienced this issue? Any insights on how we might avoid this replication of data?

I appreciate any help you can provide. Feel free to contact me directly.
