Our long-term goal is to vet and implement an Electronic Records Management
System. My boss asked if we needed to add an Electronic Records
Administrator to help guide this process. While I would love the opportunity to
add more staff (currently at 2), I'm worried about keeping an ERA busy beyond
the scope of the project. I have a hard time justifying a full-time position
when I think we could get the specialized help we need from consultants on a
temporary basis, for much less. So, for those who have an ERA-type position
and have already implemented an ERMS, what type of responsibilities does
that person have on a daily basis - related to the ERMS and beyond?
My other two employees already help with the input and retrieval of physical
records, writing of policies, training, etc.
Tell me if I'm crazy to pass up this opportunity.
Thanks,
Todd Johnson, CRM, ERMm
