Most commercial shredding outfits can handle CD's and floppies as easy as
paper without having to.....pulverize them.  The reason you get push back
from a vendor is because it cuts in on their back end profit for having to
sort out the non-paper material before the shredded stuff is sold on the
commodities market.  I would continue to use the same vendor and just toss
in the digital media in with the paper.  If they catch you, play dumb.

I would definitely not purchase an additional piece of equipment just for
cd's and/or floppies.
