Without getting personal, I do believe there is room on a collaborative professional listserv to debate the ethics of our profession. I am not a CRM, but would recommend to my colleagues reading the ICRM Code of Ethics (http://www.icrm.org/about/code-of-ethics/).

I don't think that we should shy away from sticky ethical discussions, because most ethical discussions worth having are kind of sticky. I would like to point out one eeeentsy fact regarding the articles Peter has posted on this: not one of them states that Larry Medina took these files with him when he left. It's kind of an assumption that's been made here. He could very well have obtained them through means mentioned elsewhere in this discussion.
