From a technology and records management perspective the DAM tool should work with the Records Management module. When the record is declared in the repository, individuals should still have rights to view, copy, and print the record. The right to modify should be excluded as the record is declared and should not be altered in any way. The right to create a new revision of the record should be available and would be declared as a new record. The DAM should allow a setting of zero (0) where the RM module has more control of the record over the DAM, though not total control. The DAM has other functions that the RM module does not support.

The disposition of the record should be defined in the RM module and include provision for litigation hold, though the DAM may have the final right to disposed of the record. These modules should be configured to complement each other and work together as one solution. It should not be a one-or-the-other solution.
