Hello!

I have been following this listserv for awhile now, but had not yet made my introductions. I am a graduate student in the Masters of Library and Information Studies program at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. My particular interests in this program lean towards archival preservation, and records management, with a more specific focus on the preservation and management of the electronic record, and preservation of non-digital materials through digitization--an area in which I have extensive work experience.

My fiance is currently living in Austin, TX, and although I am a Canadian citizen, I am interested in finding work in Austin this summer. Does anyone know of anyone who may be hiring, or have any hints on how cross-border internships work, or good places to look for them? I have been searching for awhile, but a lot of the international internship programs I have found online either seem sketchy, or are utterly unrelated to the information management field.

Really enjoying being a member of this listserv. It certainly provides a lot of professional food for thought, and helps me to keep abreast of current issues.
