Colin:

You can configure your windows clients to use networked storage for the
user's default areas like "My Documents". Another way is to switch to using
Citrix or other virtual workstation products, where the storage is never
local. Both will also let you set a quota for a user's storage, forcing some
discipline as they start to get "squeezed".

Subject: Question for the group

I'm looking for any feedback, hopefully, successful stories (LOL) regarding
how companies are dealing with the ever expanding data storage costs on
servers.

We are struggling identifying a way to get our users to stop saving on
their computers in addition to the designated servers, as you can imagine,
trying to dispose of this data without user assistance is cumbersome.
Trying to get the users to go through their folders to clean out unneeded
documents is almost impossible.

So, the feedback I was looking for is:

-Is anyone aware of a way to save automatically to the designated server,
without having to rely on the users to place them properly? This would
allow us to better monitor and ultimately begin dispositions as needed.
-Am I the only member struggling with this dilemma?
- Would anyone be willing to share some success stories?

Thank you for your assistance, looking forward to seeing who else is having
this issue.
