SharePoint 2010 is becoming a leading platform for workplace collaboration, information sharing, content management, records management, and web development. Many organizations will deploy SharePoint in the hope of gaining efficiencies, reducing redundancy, and managing business records across their respective lifecycle. Experts agree there is no one single element to successfully integrating SharePoint into business processes, information management technology environments and user communities but rather it takes an integrated combination of governance, planning and design, training, taxonomy and metadata management, user involvement, evaluation, and continuous refinement.

This seminar is designed to arm organizations with the know-how to leverage out-of-the-box capabilities of SharePoint 2010 to meet business objectives and requirements and to evaluate when and where to apply third party add-ons. Collaboration begins long before you roll out your first SharePoint site.

Topics to be covered during the seminar include:

* How to design and sustain a governance framework

* How to assess core functionality against your organization's specific content and records requirements

* How SharePoint 2010's Records Center works

* Essential players in SharePoint implementation - their roles and responsibilities

* A roadmap for successful RIM implementation using SharePoint, including how to figure out when and how to use 3rd party add-ons

Pre-Seminar Session - SharePoint 101
This one hour Pre-Seminar session on how SharePoint 2010 works is intended to provide attendees with a baseline knowledge of the SharePoint platform and its native capabilities. A brief demonstration will be included.

If you haven't yet had an introduction to or hands-on experience with SharePoint 2010 - this session is for YOU and has been designed to help you make the most of the day's programs and exhibits.
