Gone Forever -- Dangers and Opportunities for Media Archiving - Forbes If a media IT manager doesn’t make regular archiving of production data part of a regular workflow, valuable content, created at great expense, can be lost forever. The lower costs of storage and better production and management tools that we have today should make content retention easier, but sadly that is not always the case. The only content archived from the original Titanic and the Avatar movies are the final released versions.
