The ARMA International Educational Foundation is proud to announce that the
recipient of the inaugural Award for Academic Excellence is the University
of British Columbia School of Library, Information and Archival Studies
chaired by Professor Luciana Duranti.  The Master of Archival Studies (MAS)
Program at the University of British Columbia has kept pace with the
changing nature of records, information and technology and has been
outstanding in achieving academic excellence.  The MAS program and
Professor Duranti have contributed significantly to the growth of education
in records and information management at an international level and
University of British Columbia graduates continue to excel in all areas of
the information management field.  The award was presented at the ARMA
Canada Conference on June 5, 2012.

The Award for Academic Excellence is made to outstanding teachers or chairs
of records and information management programs that provide an all-around
excellent performance in at least two of three core areas:  outstanding
teaching, outstanding research accomplishment and outstanding contribution
to the community.  The University of British Columbia is outstanding in all
three areas.

The ARMA International Educational Foundation Board of Trustees
congratulates Professor Duranti, the faculty, students and alumni of the
University of British Columbia Master of Archival Studies program.
