Subject: Definition for Systems of Record
We are trying to develop a new concept around defining Systems of Record in our company. A system of record would maintain the authoritative version of a record and have the appropriate retention applied to it. Conversely, if a system is not a system of record, we would treat the information as transient, similar to the way we handle email.
Have any of you out there addressed this issue? I love to hear how others handle this concept.
