A million pieces of history preserved : The Lincoln Journal Star Online BEATRICE -- Staff at the Homestead National Monument of America said the 1 millionth Homestead Land-Entry Case File Record has been digitized. “The true winners are the American people and those 93 million descendants of homesteaders that are tied to this story,” monument Superintendent Mark Engler said Friday, when the announcement was made.
