Hi Alice - your friend should consider investing in ARMA's salary survey.  It will give her a variety of perspectives (geographic variations, etc).  

I have found that salaries are often directly related to the value the organization places on governing info overall - not necessarily on credentials.  Luckily, many more organizations are recognizing the need and value than have in the past.  I'd say prospects are good, but she should interview employers just as much as they will interview her to make sure she ends up somewhere that will value her efforts in more ways than a paycheck.
