It's a good game if you can get into it. Set your Records Management Standards and Goals low so that you can achieve them. Happy New Year, we can still be valuable!

Subject: Re: News: PG&E consultant defends pipe inspections (SFGate)
So let's see: according to consultant Zurcher (with apologies to Todd and others, who may see fit to disagree), the ENTIRE PIPELINE INDUSTRY has HORRIBLE records management practices, so that makes it OK—not only for PG&E, but for also for the other players in the industry?
How ... interesting.
Let's think up some logical (if purely speculative) equivalents:
1. The automobile manufacturing industry could have HORRIBLE quality control standards, but, since the entire industry has the same horrible standards, that's OK.
2. The pharmaceutical production industry could have HORRIBLE production safety standards, but, since the entire industry has the same horrible standards, that's OK.
3. The retail clothing industry could have HORRIBLE customer-relationship standards, but, since the entire industry has the same horrible standards, that's OK.
4. The dairy farming industry could have HORRIBLE hygiene standards, but, since the entire industry has the same horrible standards, that's OK.
What a Great Game. Any others?
Fred
