Aloha Bruce,
Shedding the "Records" stigma has been a discussion point for years within ARMA...Perhaps, it's one of the reasons why the acronym ARMA no longer means Association of Records Managers & Administrators anymore. The primary concern about using the term "records" is its close association with the management of "paper". I think the use of "information" (which is widely used in Canada for years versus records) is to assert that managing data/content is the focus and not "media" dependent.
Yeah, I guess RM does have a complex and that is getting people to understand that Records Management goes beyond managing paper...
Just my two cents...

Larry,
I reviewed the presentation and came to the same conclusion. Replace "information" with "records" and there would be no difference IMHO. When I see presentations like this I have to wonder if the RM community has a complex. Does the term "records" have such a negative connotation in everyone's mind that we are attempting to run away from it?
