I use the program Zasio and it is great at managing my boxes.  I have about 5000 of them to manage and can find any one in seconds.  I also like how I can manage it down to the file and document level as well.  This helps when someone wishes to check an item out.  It has that function as well so I know who has it and if it has been returned.  It also allows for retention periods to be applied and reports to run to see what is eligible for destruction.  It is the complete record management system.  My number is below if you wish to talk more about it.
