Hello,

Attached please find the job description for a Records Analyst position in the
Archdiocese of St. Louis.  This is a new position.  The Archdiocese uses
TRIM so knowledge of this software is helpful but not required.

Records Analyst 

The Archdiocese of Saint Louis has an opportunity for a Records Analyst in
the Archives Department.  This position is located at the Cardinal Rigali
Center, located in Shrewsbury, MO.  It is a non-profit charitable
organization and encompasses 11 counties in eastern Missouri, including the
City of St. Louis.  There are approximately 200 Parishes, plus 60 Offices
and Agencies.

This position reports to the Director of Archives and Records and will be
instrumental in assisting with the establishment of a comprehensive Records
Management program for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. 

Duties include but are not limited to:
•	meet with staff in a variety of departments to conduct surveys of existing
files and file storage 
•	educate staff on compliance and best practices for file management, file
naming conventions, file storage, and record disposition
•	draft and finalize with Archdiocesan approval retention schedules for
offices, parishes and schools
•	set up records schedules, record entries, and retention triggers in the
ERM system, TRIM
•	create and manage forms needed by the Archives and Records Department to
perform various records management tasks
•	provide RM support to staff including advising on new record series and
disposition
•	conduct outreach and training on site, online, and in parishes and schools
in conjunction with Director of the Archives
•retrieve materials of historical and permanent value from departments and
transfer to Archives
•run reports alerting offices to records which have met retention
requirements and facilitate with file destruction and disposition activity
logging
•	create page on the Archives website with Records Management information,
tutorials, and forms
•manage the TRIM database and troubleshoot issues as they arise; be the TRIM
expert on staff
•with Director, provide advice and tools on disaster planning and recovery
for individual departments and parishes
•	assist Director with other Records related projects

Qualifications:

•	Master’s degree in library or information science, archival
administration, records administration, public history or other accredited
program required  
•	At least two years of experience in managing records and creating and
applying retention schedules
•Familiarity with the various laws and codes for compliance, including
Federal, State and Canon, which may apply
•Prior processing experience required
•Teaching experience or aptitude strongly desired as this position will be
instructing a variety of staff on records and database management 
•Ability to apply records management principles to modern records systems 
•Knowledge of digital formats and scanning technologies and equipment; and
of current electronic records preservation practices and emerging technologies  
•Experience using Microsoft Office products to include Word, Excel and
Outlook and proficiency with databases  
•Knowledge of TRIM or other records management software helpful
•Strong project management skills
•Excellent communication skills
•Previous training or teaching experience a plus
•CRM designation or willingness to acquire beneficial


The ideal candidate will also have effective oral and written communications
skills, be comfortable working in a team environment, and have an aptitude
for creating and maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with a
variety of internal and external customers.  Experience with diocesan or
government records a plus.  The position requires the ability to lift up to
50 lb boxes, stand or sit for long periods of time, use of scanning devices
and other office hardware and software. Salary negotiable.
