In that case you would want to keep architectural drawings for at least 
the life of the building. 

For buildings that have historical significance (locally, architecturally, 
etc.) you would want to transfer one set of drawings in your university 
archives after demolition. For buildings with no historical significance 
(ex: utility sheds) you would have no use for architectural drawings after 
they are demolished. Build in a review process so someone can make that 
determination (i.e. the signature on the shed drawings is not "F.L. 
Wright."
