Rapidly Capturing Ridgeway Back in September, the Archives decided to begin its first rapid capture<http://oclc.org/research/publications/library/2011/2011-04r.html>digitization pilot project. Since the point of rapid capture is to significantly increase throughput<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Throughput_%28business%29>in digitization of material, having a group of material that is all relatively the same size is important. Robert Ridgeway’s<http://siarchives.si.edu/blog/meet-robert-ridgway-ornithologist>bird head drawings, contained in Record Unit 7167, Series 3 <http://siarchives.si.edu/collections/siris_arc_217324>, were identified as a possible candidate for rapid capture based on the uniform size of all the drawings and digitization priorities within the Archives. http://bit.ly/1dxeAGK Source: http://siarchives.si.edu/blog/rapidly-capturing-ridgeway See if people are clicking on this link: http://bit.ly/1dxeAGK+ Try the bitly.com sidebar to see who is talking about a page on the web: http://bitly.com/pages/sidebar -- Peter Kurilecz CRM CA IGP [log in to unmask] Dallas, Texas Save our in-boxes! http://emailcharter.org http://twitter.com/RAINbyte http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/RAINbyte/ http://paper.li/RAINbyte/rainbyte http://pinterest.com/pakurilecz/archives/ http://pinterest.com/pakurilecz/records-management/ http://www.linkedin.com/in/peterakurilecz Information not relevant for my reply has been deleted to reduce the electronic footprint and to save the sanity of digest subscribers List archives at http://lists.ufl.edu/archives/recmgmt-l.html Contact [log in to unmask] for assistance To unsubscribe from this list, click the below link.
