When an archivist creates an electronic finding aide, and then maintains that file in an electronic database, the archivist is electronic recordkeeping. The finding aide is the record. The Australians and the continuum model got things started about 20 years ago. SJSU offers a Masters in Archives and Records Administration. Graduates think from both sides.
