Not sure if anyone has heard of "Google Trends". You can enter a term at the http://www.google.com/trends/explore#cmpt=q site and see how that term compares to up to 4 other terms for "Interest over time".
Example: You can enter hamburger, hot dog, and pizza to compare how those terms have trended in Google to one another.
Check out how Records Management, Information Governance, Big Data, and E-Discovery compare. Any surprises? What can you do or we as a profession to influence trends?
Some words of advice...use a browser other than Internet Explorer. Chrome will work the best. Also, don't compare any of our "buzzwords" to Justin Bieber...your faith in humanity may take a giant hit! Have fun!
