Ever curious about what is actually IN an archives? Join us for a behind and
below the scenes tour of the Washington State Archives, the repository for
state government records since before the days Washington was even a
state. See how archival collections and government records are stored and
preserved for the future and how records are the foundation for research -
be it the history of a parcel of land, a legislative bill or your family tree!
Then join us at Mercato's Restaurant for a special session about busting the
most common misconceptions and myths about public records and records
management. So many misconceptions still exist and are perpetuated
within organizations, including the myth that records management is
hopelessly old fashioned and doesn’t apply anymore. This session should
give records professionals some additional assistance in promoting records
management and making the case for the “new” RM - Information
Governance!
