New product offering, same old problems.

Manufacturer's warranty is limited to replacing the media if it fails to
meet the stated specifications- that doesn't help if you've trusted the
media to be "archival" and the content no longer exists elsewhere.

It's all well and good to state media will last a bazillion years, but if
the content written to is is no longer accessible due to either the media
format becoming obsolete and hardware no longer being available to access
it or the format the content is written to it being obsolete, then you have
nothing but a nice, durable, drink coaster.

Anything longer than 10-20 years is excessive, unless it's something along
the lines of a NORSAM type technology http://www.norsam.com/about-us.html
and this is excessive and priced out of the league of many/most users.

If you don't have a plan in place to migrate your content form whatever
media you choose to store it on every 10 or so years to ensure you avoid
both media and format degradation and obsolescence, you're not doing your
due diligence.
