*BATON ROUGE* -- Parents concerned about their children's records falling
into the wrong hands pushed Louisiana lawmakers Wednesday to approve laws
clamping down on what can be revealed and who can see that data.

The argument evolved after it was revealed that state Education
Superintendent John White sent to an admittedly unsecure data storage
facility information containing names, ages, addresses and Social Security
numbers, which the state Education Department uses as student
identification numbers.
