Editorial: Keep Alaska's archives in Alaska The records stored in the Anchorage archives include critical documents from the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Alaska Railroad and Coast Guard, among others. Those documents are used by genealogists, historians and writers alike. This week, the Alaska Historical Society denounced the closure, demanding the federal government recant its decision.
