I recall seeing one of Peter's news bits on a bunch of city personnel records that were found floating around a local park. It was presumed to have fallen off a shred truck. The shredding company denied it. That news bit came within the last two weeks and the location that rings bells starts with a K--- Kentucky, Kansas, ....

Sorry it's not more exacting information.

Subject: Offsite Storage Provider Data Theft

I was thinking there was some sort of recent personal information data breach involving an offsite storage driver or a shredding company. I checked the listserv archives and google and couldn't find it.

Does anyone remember some big breach that happened recently involving one of the big companies? I must not be using the correct key words or I'm not remembering the situation correctly. I think it was a shred truck driver picking up and stealing information from materials that were supposed to be shredded. It would have been in the last 6 months or so. If anyone can recall it please let me know. Thanks.
