Wednesday, May 21, 2014 ARMA Metro NYC Chapter's Annual Awards Dinner Featuring Louis J. Briskman
Please join us as we celebrate another great year for the chapter and announce the recipients of this year's Chapter Awards

TOPIC: "Opening the Eye - Managing Information in the Entertainment and Other Industries"

Drawing from his personal experience, Louis J. Briskman, retired Executive Vice President and General Counsel of CBS Corporation, will discuss the practical aspects of a Records Management program, and lessons learned in the Entertainment and other industries. He will bring along some real live litigation war stories where records retention principles played a key role.

Appetizers and a buffet dinner will be served. Cash bar only!

GUEST SPEAKER: Louis J. Briskman is the retired Executive Vice President and General Counsel of CBS Corporation, where he served in that position from the new public company's inception in 2005 through 2013. In that capacity, Lou oversaw the legal operations of CBS and its subsidiaries.

BIO: Lou Briskman served in the Law Department of CBS and its affiliated companies for over 30 years. He was elected to the General Counsel position at Westinghouse Electric Corporation in 1993, which, following the acquisition of CBS, renamed itself CBS Corporation in 1997. He served as General Counsel of this former CBS Corporation from 1997 through 2000. From 2004-2005, Lou served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Aetna Inc. Lou has served as a Regent on the Georgetown Board of Regents and has chaired the Advisory Board of the Georgetown Corporate Counsel Institute, and is currently a member.

He is also a Board Member of the Georgetown University Law School Board of Visitors. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Weston Lacrosse Association and is a member of the Lawyers for Children project in Connecticut and there represents juveniles in custody and abuse cases in the Superior Court.

AWARDS: We will be presenting the following awards: Chapter Leader of the Year, Chapter Member of the Year, Honored Member of the Year and New Member of the Year.
