shreds the old version.  According to your suggestion, I would list the 
plan on everyone's individual record retention schedule.  I'd list the 
retention as Active.

As an alternative, you might consider each department sending a copy of 
their plan to the central BCP Team in HR to keep as one Master File to 
which you apply retention.

It is not unusual for organizations to retain the superseded versions of 
their response plans for the period of statute of limitations for injury 
or negligence in their state. If someone were injured during an emergency 
a year ago, they might need to be able to produce the version that was in 
effect at that time.
