Sometimes it just helps to talk out loud! Since our BCP Office is out of our HR department, I'm going to list the record series on their schedule. Each time a plan is updated it is sent to the BCP office and copies are kept within the department.

It would be the same as our policies and procedures. HR is the "owner" but each individual department can create them. When they are revised they are sent to records storage and stored under the HR department - regardless of who created the policy.

As far as retention length - I'm going to keep as active - or superseded. Superseded plans are shredded.

Thanks to everyone that offered input!

Jeanne
