Charlie.  as the member started the Friday Pondering, you really have to understand the basis for these postings.
1-are they meant to be records related?  sometimes they are sometimes they are not.  It depends on how I am feeling on any particular Friday.
2-it is a way to think of things other than records for a brief moment
3-If you don't like them as was pointed out, make a rule so you don't see them
4-don't take things so seriously sometimes you need to get out of the box think of other things and then get back to being productive
5-a number of people like them
6- sometimes the pondering are from other members of the "Club"
7-sometimes there are very few responses sometimes in this case there were a number of responses, it happens once in a great while, in this case I learned some very valuable local food ideas and if visiting those areas I will certainly be looking for them
8-contribute a thought on them once in awhile.  Heck I am coming to the bay area next month, what is a regional dish I should not miss?  
Don't forget to let me know what regional food I should not miss.
