Ah, Portland. Home of some of the most interesting bridges in the world -
and that's saying something, coming from Pittsburgh, the City of Bridges.
I rode to the top of the Hawthorne, once, on top of the counterweight. (It
was legal, though. The county bridge director took us up).

Greetings Community:
It's been a few years, but I'm back on the List.
I'm Ken Begley, a RIM Analyst (or something like that) working for Metro
Regional Government in Portland, Oregon for the past 8 years or so. I've
been in records management for about 316 years (yes, I'm pretty old),
having done stints in a variety of areas, such as the energy sector
(private company in Washington DC) and manufacturing (Levi-Strauss in San
Francisco) and now government. I've lived in a bunch of different places
(which is a great experience - I highly recommend it), but I've come to
identify myself more and more with the land from which I spring - New
Jersey, the cradle of civilization.
I'm really looking forward to the lively discussions around the
ever-evolving issues we all encounter in this work. And I promise to do
my best to observe the rules of the road established for this excellent
forum.
