My first Records related job came from Dr. Bob Markham at the University of Northern Colorado in 1978 - producing microfilm, including his big idea of producing fiche-based maps of the Colorado high country with a hand-held reader. Sort of a very early precursor of emapping. 

Once I seriously decided to make records my life's work, my primary mentor has always been Dr. Mark Langemo. I've spent years referring to myself as a Langemite.
