Pennsylvania eyes purchasing email archiving system - Pittsburgh

The state has begun exploring ways it might archive emails that routinely
are deleted by its 80,000 executive branch employees so those documents
would be preserved for litigation and Right to Know reviews, a spokesman
said late Thursday.

Word of a potential new system came as an aide to Senate Majority Leader
Dominic Pileggi announced plans to review Pennsylvania’s statute and
hodgepodge of regulations governing records retention to see what changes
may be needed.
