Will new court ruling have ripple effect on records retention? -
FierceContentManagement

A new ruling by a D.C. court could have a ripple effect on what new types
of records federal agencies--and eventually U.S.-based businesses--are
compelled to retain.

D.C. District Court Judge Rosemary Collyer ruled
<http://cei.org/content/judge-rules-cei-can-seek-injunction-against-epa-record-destruction>
last week that the non-profit think tank Competitive Enterprise Institute
<http://cei.org/> may pursue its plan to obtain records of internal text
messages between Environmental Protection Agency employees. The EPA claims
text messages are not part of the Freedom of Information Act and says many
texts have been destroyed as part of the agency's standard record-keeping
policies.
