I started thinking about this while something else is marinating in back
brain. I did a search for "search engine musical notation" and one of the
top hits was http://www.wikihow.com/Identify-Songs-Using-Melody. It
includes a number of different approaches for finding music and more than
20 search engines that can do it. Not sure whether this would work for this
particular case, but it might be that there is a project out there to do
the same.
