Hi Tyrene

I think I would approach this as a series of discussions.  First discussion would be with the whole department, discussing the future of the industry, changes that will need to be made, how it would affect the department, the changes the department will need to make to keep up. 

The second discussion would be a "career development" discussion with each individual employee.   Knowing where the company/department is headed, how do they see themselves fitting in?  Will they need additional training? Etc etc   

Personally, if I had one of these career development discussions with my manager and I was not willing to grow with the job, I would not be surprised to find myself made redundant in the near future.
