Dear Colleagues, This week¹s World Bank Open Discussion Forum talk will be
on Wednesday, 8 October at 10am EDT and will be given by Miriam Nesbit,
Director, Office of Government Information Services, US National Archives
and Records Administration.

In September 2009, Miriam Nisbet became the first Director of the Office of
Government Information Services (OGIS) at the US National Archives and
Records Administration (NARA). OGIS is the new Freedom of Information Act
ombudsman office created by the 2007 FOIA Amendments. The office has a
two-prong mission: to offer mediation services to resolve disputes between
FOIA requesters and federal agencies and to review agencies¹ policies,
procedures and compliance with a view to improving FOIA administration.
Miriam previously worked for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and
Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the American Library Association, NARA, and
the US Department of Justice. She received a BA degree from the University
of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and a JD degree from UNC¹s School of Law. She
is a member of the Bars of the District of Columbia and North Carolina. She
represents NARA on various inter-agency working groups and the US National
Commission for UNESCO.

We look forward to having you join us,
Vicki.
