My first computer was and IBM personal desktop. Spring 1987. I was about a 3 years into my own business venture I was able to use DacEasy accounting software and a software Contact Management 1.0. on it. The Contact Management 1.0 was what ultimately lead to Act! crm. I still use Act! now owned by Sage.
I also recall a sales person coming to my office to sell me something and he had one of the first Compag portable computers. Bulky and a bit heavy.
Prior to that I has used something that created punch hole tape to run thru some computer and then a xerox display writer (I think that was what it was called.) that was early 1984. I created a first generation database on it to manage the physcians creditential info at the hospital I worked at. That was when I realized I totally understood understanding, creating and working with a database.
My 25 yo Microsoft Certified Tech grandson was impressed with his Nana when I told him all that recently. LOL

Subject: First Personal Computer Used
From memory, the first PC I used was an IBM PC-AT at the Univ of Missouri
in 1984.
I used a mainframe while in the ARMY in the early-mid 70s. I learned what
I had to know to use it; did not understand it very well.
Best regards, Steve
