"I vote for New Orleans!"

Understanding that current Boards can overrule past Boards, when I was on the 
Board of Directors, we voted to not hold conferences in hurricane prone areas. 
The last time we were in New Orleans, we were sandwiched in between two 
hurricanes.  Had a hurricane the size of Katrina hit, the Association would 
have suffered tremendous financial loss.  We loved New Orleans and it was a 
great site, but the potential financial loss was just more than our Board was 
willing to gamble.
