New York City may seem more expensive.
However, a number of factors more than offset this expense. These include (in no particular order):
1. Lower airfares from almost anywhere
2. More non-stop flights from most major points of origin
3. A wide variety of restaurant of different prices
4. A highly-effective (and safe) public transportation system
5. A wide variety of lodging options at different costs (hotels that range from good and inexpensive, to “if you have to ask, you can’t afford it”).
6. Several major hotels have adequate convention space (e.g., Hilton New York, Marquis Marriott Brooklyn)
7. Like Denver, has a large ARMA Chapter that would be a willing and loving host (and I DID check before committing them)
8. While I don’t go to conferences for entertainment, New York City has both variety of types and of prices.
9. And you are not cut off from the world (Gaylord DC ☹ )
But I would also support Disney World in Orlando (full disclosure: my son is eight years old and has never been)
Best regards and a great weekend to all.
Fred
