My first ARMA Annual conference was '85 in NYC. Had a good time. Studio
54; was that the name of our outing?

I had a lot of fun in Denver in '96; lots of fun. Made some good friends
there who are still good friends today. I would not mind going back there
for another conference. Wayne Duncan from the Univ of Missouri, who had
first hired me into RIM in '84, was the Education Chair for that
conference. Steve Maynor from Duke Energy and I spent all day and evening
(Saturday?) at the bar/venue where we had the 2nd Listserv outing; I forget
the name of it. Drank all day and night; we sat there at the outdoors area
and had lunch and then six hours later had supper; I do not remember how
much booze Duke paid for that day... I told Steve if we had any character
we would not be doing this. Then the waitress came around again...
Later we went upstairs to the listserv outing. I seem to remember Gail Ann
being there. The next morning I got up at the Holiday Inn, fuzzy; showered
and walked over to the conf. hotel for Region 4 leadership meeting; NOBODY
else showed up; except for the Region VP who was 15 minutes late. I
should have stayed in bed; I had the shakes that AM. Jack and I found a
beer to settle things down. (ends sentence on a preposition)

The weather was beautiful; up to 80 and sunny every day. On the shuttle to
the airport after the conference it was cloudy and spitting; a storm was
coming in. Perfect conference; from my perspective. Not sure I ever had a
more fun conference; although Kansas City and all that jazz in '86; San
Francisco in '90, and Cincinnati in '99 were dadgummed fun too.

S'cuse me; think I hear a cold Bud calling out to me...

I hate paper.

Best regards, Steve
