About four years ago I received an inquiry from the American Bar Association regarding my willingness to participate in facebook groups for my sections. I politely responded that I would never participate in work-related anything on facebook, both due to security and privacy concerns (the legal ethics rules are really strict about sharing information) and also because I didn't feel like the Section of Science and Technology needed to see my dog's Halloween costumes. The Section of Science and Technology disagreed -- they felt dog Halloween costumes would raise the level of discourse -- but acknowledged that it was going to be difficult to get people to participate in something they couldn't bifurcate. While I appreciate that facebook finally realized that not everything must be integrated for all purposes, I'm skeptical of their motives here and I still won't use it.

Hopefully, there will be a reticence to participate in this 'experiment'.
I personally hope it suffers a quick and quiet death.

Thinking back to all the 'less than stellar' experiences many have had related to using their personal communications devices in the BYOD World when it comes to information privacy/protection, WHY woulds ANYONE want to commingle their personal FB and "work FB" information?
