Larry,

We have clashed on this point before (respectfully, I might add). Where
you have seen all of the various disciplines and facets underlying
Information Governance as in the purview of Records & Information
Management. In many (I'd dare say, most) organizations, much of what is
underlying Information Governance is simply not addressed in any meaningful
or comprehensive manner.

Looking over the IG Initiative 2014 annual report on Information
Governance (available here:
http://iginitiative.com/igi-publishes-2014-annual-report/), the facets of
Information Governance include RIM, Information Security & Protection,
Compliance, Data Governance, eDiscovery, Risk Management, Privacy, Data
Storage & Archiving, Knowledge Management, Business Operations &
Management, Audit, Analytics, IT Management, Master Data Management,
Enterprise Architecture, and Business Intelligence (with responses over the
2/3s mark). If you, as a Records Manager, are aligning all of those various
disciplines and facets across the enterprise (whether it's a business,
educational organization, or governmental agency)... *you deserve a raise*.

Nick
